While your homes, yards, and neighborhoods become still, Mosinee Middle School is alive with excitement for the 2010-2011 school year. I will be your child’s sixth gradecommunications teacher this year. You and I will be spending more time with your child in the upcoming year than any other adult. Because of this, I would like to take this opportunity to tell you a few things about myself both personally and professionally.
I was born and raised in Wausau. I am the youngest of ten children. I am married and enjoy reading, power shopping, and taking long walks in the country with my husband, Steve. I received my Bachelor of Science Degree in Elementary Education 1-8 with a Reading Concentration from University of Wisconsin-Stevens Point. I received my Master of Arts in Education in Teacher Leadership from Silver Lake College, Manitowoc, Wisconsin.
Parents are the most important people in a child’s life, and we need to work together for the benefit of your child. I need you to support my academic, homework, and discipline classroom procedures and rules; however, I would like to mention that I do not accept late homework unless your child has been ill or has a legitimate reason. Students also need to remember to be quiet if they complete their assignments early. It is helpful if students have a book to read with them at all times in class. In return, I will keep you informed about all aspects of your child’s experiences in communication's class. With home and school working together, I know that each and every student can have his or her most successful school year.
I am looking forward to an enjoyable year filled with new learning experiences for your child.
