When your child comes home each day, they will have certain tasks to complete.
1. Review papers in take-home folder with mom or dad. Take out papers that stay home and complete any papers that need to be returned to school.
2. Read for 10-15 minutes. This time includes any books sent home from school. Click here for a guided reading form to fill out. If your child does not bring a book home from school, they should still read. This could include books you have at home, magazines, the newspaper, comics, etc.
3. Complete the math homework brought home. If there is any difficulty completing the work, please make note of it and we will work on it in class. For more information and resources for parents, please click here to go to the Houghton Mifflin: Math Expressions website.
4. Practice spelling words brought home. Spelling starts second quarter. Click here to go to the Houghton Mifflin Reading website. There is more information on each theme as well as links to games that work with each theme.
