Reading is fun!

At the end of each reading theme, which lasts three weeks, students will be bringing their photocopied books home that we have read and worked with in class.  PLEASE KEEP THESE IN A SAFE PLACE FOR READING PRACTICE!  At our home, my daughter's books go in a basket by the chair she reads to us in.  Another good idea is an ice cream bucket or a small plastic tub.

Once we get into October, students will start to bring home reading pouches from me with a book that we have read in class that day.  They are to read the book to someone at home at least once and then have an adult sign their reading log.  The words should be familiar and there is usually a strategy or skill that we have focused on for that day (i.e. blending sounds to make words, fluency, rereading for comprehension...).  Thanks for your help!
