There are currently a total of $1,550.00 in Piggly Wiggly Gift Cards.  This money is earned through the collection of receipts.  Two deposits were made over the summer months.  Please continue to encourage the collection of these receipts.

We had a box top challenge that concluded at the beginning of this school year.  The box top money is returned to the PTO in the form of cash.  This money is used to give mini-grants. 

Bobbi Jo presented some ideas for Box Top contests throughout this school year.  The contests have been keeping students and parents involved in the process of collections.  The tentative plan is to have 3 contests throughout the school year.  (Possibly a soccer theme this fall, a 100^th Day collection, and a race to the end of the school year)  More information will come as plans are finalized.  Please support Bobbi Jo and the PTO in their great efforts to collect these items.  The cash that is brought in from these collections directly benefits our students and classroom opportunities. 

FYI. . . if you are ordering t-shirts for any reason please contact Bobbi Jo.  She has information from Hanes/Box Tops.  For every t-shirt ordered from Hanes they will donate one box top to our school.

Refinements to the fundraiser delivery night. . .

Kelly Sackman has done a wonderful job organizing the fundraiser and the delivery night.  She is always looking for ways to make the process go more smoothly.  If you see Kelly please send a compliment her way!  We appreciate all her hard work.

At the delivery this year they are going to have slips of paper with the order total for each child.  The check will then be paper clipped to the slip total and filled.  They are hoping that this allows the process to go more smoothly. 

Delivery night is Wednesday, October 12^th.  Please keep this date in mind the PTO will need staff volunteers starting around 3:15pm.

PTO is always looking for parents who are willing to pop popcorn during the school day at various reward times.  If you have a parent in your classroom that would be interested in volunteering their time to PTO please contact myself, Bobbi Jo, or Crystal and/or have them attend a PTO meeting!

The overall PTO volunteer sheet for the school year will be sent home the week of the 19^th.  Julie Jamroz is completing the sheet.  Next week you may want to include PTO information in your newsletters. J

Jenny Bruening’s middle school class will be counting the Piggly Wiggly receipts.  The person who had previously done it has resigned.

Just a reminder- all PTO financial requests need to be submitted prior to a meeting so that they appear on the agenda unless there is an “emergency.”  If you are requesting financial funds from the PTO you may want to consider attending the meeting.  There are often questions regarding the requests.

The 2011-12 budget will be discussed at the next meeting.
