If you are to receive a scholarship or award you and your guardian will be sent letters in the mail. Attendance is mandatory, so please be sure you are available that evening.

Each Regional, State and National Scholarship listed below has unique application instructions.

Amount: Two $2,500 scholarships
Qualifications:
- Graduating senior planning on attending an accredited college, university, or technical school
- Individuals planning on pursuing a career in an agricultural or animal related field
- The Scholarship will be based on the desire, interest, and aptitude of the student to pursue and excel in an agriculture or animal related field.
- Student must demonstrate an interest in an agricultural/animal field by having or have had a membership in FFA, 4-H, Rodeo, Horse Club or related agricultural organization

Deadline: May 15, 2025
Amount: Seven $1,000 scholarships (Two $1,000 scholarships will be awarded to the students with the highest-ranking essay score from a town or village insured by Rural Mutual Insurance Company (town must be insured as of May 1, 2025).
Five $1,000 scholarships will be awarded to the top five additional students with the highest ranking essay scores.)
Qualifications:
- All applicants must graduate from a Wisconsin public or private high school in 2025 and plan to attend a Wisconsin public or private college or university in 2025
- Essays will be judged independently on originality and subject matter in relation to the topic. The essays must also contain correct spelling, grammar, and punctuation.
- Judging will be completed by August 8, 2025. Recipients will be announced by August 22, 2025.
- Proof of enrollment in a Wisconsin public or private college is required to receive a scholarship.
Essay Topic: “What are 3 top priorities your local town government officials should pursue to improve the quality of life in your community?”

Amount: One $5,000.00 scholarship, two $3,000.00 scholarships, and two $2,000.00 scholarships
Qualifications:
- Interested candidates must possess extra-curricular accomplishments and inspirational goals.
- Academically capable students must be enrolled as an Art Major at an accredited institution of higher education located in the United States. (This includes Art Therapy Programs).
- All applicants must be U.S. citizens.
- Recipient will be required to provide evidence of college acceptance before money is awarded.

Amount: Five $2,000 scholarships
Qualifications:
- a full-time undergraduate student at a four-year Wisconsin university or a two-year Wisconsin Technical College (public or private) in the fall of 2025
- major is healthcare related
- you, your spouse, parent, grandparent, or legal guardian is an employee of a WCA Group Health Trust member group

Amount: Each year up to 60 scholarships will be awarded — $10,000 for a student in a 4-year program and $5,000 for a student in a 2-year program. By maintaining a cumulative grade point average greater than 2.0, scholarships can be renewed annually for the length of the program, for a total award of $40,000 or $10,000, respectively.

Athletic Requirements
- You must be participating in your high school’s boys or girls basketball program during this (your senior) year either as a player or a manager.
Financial Requirements
- The foundation uses your completed Free Application For Student Aid form (FAFSA) to determine financial need.
- You may also apply for and receive other financial aid.
Educational Requirements
- You must be a senior graduating this year from a Wisconsin high school – public or private.
- You must attend a University of Wisconsin System school as a full-time student (at least 12 credits), enrolled in a 2-year or 4-year program.
- To renew your scholarship, you must maintain performance consistent with the original award criteria, including a cumulative grade point average greater than 2.0.
Other Requirements
- You must be a bona fide resident of Wisconsin.
- You will need a unique student ID number for the UW System school(s) you are applying to.
- You will need a completed FAFSA form on file (Free Application For Student Aid) for your application to be considered.
- You will need to file an application online during the enrollment period of February 1 – April 30 of your senior year.

Lee Scholars Program at UW-Madison, established 40 years ago, offers a four-year merit-based scholarship to academically talented and outstanding students who have experienced hardship or disadvantages, which have impacted their educational opportunities. Students are chosen from a national pool of high school seniors for their potential to succeed in a rigorous academic environment. Selection Process: The Office of Admissions & Recruitment reviews all applications to UW-Madison to determine eligibility and makes selections for the Mercile J. Lee Scholars Program. There is no separate scholarship application to be considered for the Mercile J. Lee Scholars Program. High school seniors must apply as a First-Year Student to UW-Madison either through the Common Application or the UW System Application. There is no preference between applications.
