Any change to the school schedule causes disruption to all families, staff, and the community. The option to close or early dismiss school related to weather conditions is only made when absolutely necessary.
How are Snow Day school closure decisions made?
The superintendent monitors the weather in consultation with the bus company through the previous day/evening/early morning hours. By 5:00 am, the superintendent will determine road conditions, if not called the night before, and will make the decision to close or not to close the school district for the day.
If there is a Snow Day...
All Mosinee School District Schools are closed. After-school activities may occur depending on the timing of the weather event and the safety of the roads and sidewalks which will be different depending on the timing of the after-school activity.
- E-Learning Days would only be used if the total amount of snow days for the school year exceeds the amount where minimum state instructional minutes cannot be met.
If there is an Early Dismissal due to inclement weather...
Dismissal times will be communicated via the same method with a decision if possible no later than 11:30 am, with school releasing at 1:00 pm.
How will I be notified if school is closed?
Parents, staff and the community will be notified through the following communication methods:
- Local media outlets
- District and School Social Media Channels
- Email notifications and texts if provided (Login to Skyward Family Access and check your Skylert settings)
