What is PBIS?

Positive Behavior Interventions and Supports (PBIS) is a systematic approach to teacher behavioral expectations throughout the school. PBIS develops school-wide systems that support staff to teach and promote positive behavior in all students. It is based on a proactive model that teaches and reinforces the behaviors and recognizes students who can model these behaviors. It also has systems in place to support students who have a difficult time or may present with more challenging behaviors.

How Do We Acknowledge Students on Positive Behavior?

When teachers witness students exhibiting positive behaviors and expectations within the classroom and the school building, they receive a proud slip. With the proud slips, students can use them to make purchases on the PBIS rewards chart.
